This year, the Redmond High School Marching Band debuted their NEW marching uniforms during the homecoming game. Months of planning, countless details, and a shared vision led to this moment. Introducing the Redmond High School Mustang Band Uniform Reveal!!

This past weekend the Redmond Mustang Marching Band alongside the @redmonddanceteam marched in Portland’s Starlight Parade and earned a Gold Rating!!!

A portion of the parade was on live video and the recording is here!

Be sure to see the Marching bands next performances on July 19th to open a showing of the World Cup Finals watch party in Marymoor Park! And the Derby Days Parade on July 25th in Downtown Redmond!

Our final concert of the year, Jazz Night with @redmondchoir’s Vocal Jazz Ensemble, is now being held in the RHS Cafeteria due to rainy weather! See you this evening at 7:00PM at RHS. 🎤💛🎵

BAND SENIOR SPOTLIGHT 🎶
Lastly, we’re celebrating Freddy Zhao!
Freddy plays bass clarinet, piano, and alto sax and performs in Wind and Jazz. Their favorite band memory was the NOLA Heritage Festival during sophomore year, and they’ve brought lots of talent and musicianship to the band program over the years.
After graduation, Freddy will attend the University of Washington Seattle to study environmental science 🚀

Next, we’re celebrating Yijia Zhang!
Yijia plays the flute and alto saxophone and performs in Wind Ensemble, Symphony, and Jazz Band 🎶 Their favorite memory from band was making new friends and going on trips together, and they’ve brought positivity and musicianship to the program over the years.
After graduation, Yijia will attend Northeastern University to study Business Administration: Fintech in the D’Amore-McKim School of Business 🚀

Today we’re celebrating Jerry Yao!
Jerry plays the alto saxophone in Wind Ensemble. Their favorite band memory was playing the “Sir Duke” solo with the other saxophones before it got cut 🥲 They’ve brought kindness and musicianship to the band program during their time here.
After graduation, Jerry will attend the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign to study mechanical engineering 🚀

Next, we’re celebrating Austin Xie!
Austin plays percussion in Wind Ensemble. Their favorite band memory was going on field trips, and they’ve been a consistent and important part of the percussion section throughout their time in band.
After graduation, Austin will attend the University of Washington to study engineering 🚀

Today we’re celebrating Reid Watson!
Reid plays the Bari Sax and performs in Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band, and Pit Orchestra. Their favorite memory from band was performing our very first halftime marching show, “Go West.” , in which Reid led us as one of our drum majors. They have helped lead the band with so much energy and spirit, and marching appearances without them will not be the same!
After graduation, Reid will attend Oregon State University to study business 🚀

Today we’re celebrating Keaton Watson!
Keaton is a percussionist who performs in Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band, Pit Orchestra, and Symphony. Their favorite band memory was marching in the new uniforms for the first time, and they’ve been such an important part of the percussion section throughout high school, serving as marching section leader and center snare this year!
After graduation, Keaton will attend the Oregon State University Honors College to study chemical engineering 🚀

Today we’re celebrating Miranda Uribe-Muñoz!
Miranda plays the Alto Saxophone in Symphonic Band, and their favorite band memory was the senior trip to SoCal and Disneyland 🎢. Miranda has been a committed member of the program for all 4 years, and they will be missed!
After graduation, Miranda will attend Michigan State University to study kinesiology on the pre-med track after earning an associate’s degree in science from Bellevue College 🚀

Today we’re celebrating Colby Siew!
Colby plays trumpet and performs in Seattle Youth Symphony Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, Mustang Symphony, and Jazz Band. Their favorite band memory was the LA trip and ride-hopping at Disneyland with friends. Serving as secretary and section leader, Colby has brought so much talent and energy to every performance.
After graduation, Colby will attend Pomona College to study chemistry and music 🚀

Next, we’re celebrating Nishant Sengupta!
Nishant plays tenor saxophone in Symphonic Band. Their favorite band memory was marching in our marching uniforms for the first time this school year, and they’ve been a great and valued part of the band community throughout high school. After graduation, Nishant will attend California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo to study computer science 🚀

Next we’re celebrating Leto Rivers!
Leto plays trombone and performs in Jazz Band, Wind Ensemble, Symphony, BYSO, and SYSO. Their favorite band memory was the trip to New Orleans, and serving as our trombone section leader they’ve brought some amazing musicianship and much laughter to every ensemble they’ve been a part of.
After graduation, Leto will attend Montana State University to study Industrial Systems Engineering 🚀

Julia plays the bassoon and performs in Wind and Symphony. Their favorite band memory is getting Dairy Queen after concerts, and they’ve helped make band rehearsals and performances much more memorable over the years.
After graduation, Julia will attend the University of Victoria to study mechanical engineering 🚀

Today we’re celebrating Arvind Satyavolu!
Arvind plays percussion and performs in Wind Ensemble, Jazz, and SYSO. Their favorite band memory was score studying with Reid and Angela in the band office, and they’ve brought so much energy and support to the program throughout high school serving as a drum major!
After graduation, Arvind will attend Boston University to study biology in the College of Arts and Sciences 🚀

Next up, we’re celebrating Parthiv Saravanan!
Parthiv plays the clarinet in Wind Ensemble. Their favorite band memory was the very first pep band game, and serving as the clarinet section leader, Parthiv has been a huge part of creating fun memories and school spirit throughout high school. After graduation, Parthiv will study aerospace engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology 🚀

Next up, we’re celebrating Maile McCall!
Maile plays the Saxophone and clarinet and has been involved in Wind Ensemble, Symphony, Jazz, and Chamber Choir. Their favorite band memory was being a TA for concert band this year. Maile has brought so much passion and positivity to the program throughout high school, serving as our Band Leadership President this year! They have so much dedication for Band and their influence on this band has, no doubt, inspired the peers around them. Thank you Maile for your huge contribution to the RHS Mustang Band program! After graduation, Maile will attend Arizona State University to study music learning and teaching 🚀

BAND SENIOR SPOTLIGHT 🎓
Today we’re celebrating Sean MacLachlan!
Sean plays trumpet and French horn and performs in Wind and Jazz. Their favorite band memory was playing Jazz in the Park last year, where the atmosphere was electric and everyone was having so much fun. Sean has also served as high brass section leader, bringing lots of energy and positivity to every event.
After graduation, Sean will attend Long Island University to study Music Technology, Engineering, and Production 🚀

Next up, we’re celebrating Allen Luty!
Allen plays trumpet in Symphonic Band. Their favorite band memory was performing the La La Land medley junior year, which they described as one of their best musical experiences. Allen has brought strong dedication to the band program throughout high school and after graduation, Allen will attend Central Washington University to study chemistry and minor in military sciences, later joining the Army as a CBRN officer 🚀

Daniel plays the tuba and sousaphone in Wind Ensemble. Their favorite band memories include playing ping pong after band socials and going to Silverwood and almost throwing up 😭 They’ve brought so much fun and spirit to the band program through pep band over the years. After graduation, Daniel will attend Lake Washington Institute of Technology to study in the diesel and heavy duty technician program 🚀

Next up, we’re celebrating Sam Gauthier!
Sam plays the oboe, English horn, tenor sax, and alto sax, and has been part of Wind Ensemble and Symphony. Their favorite band memory was teaching freshmen all of our traditions at football and basketball games, and they’ve helped make the band community so welcoming and fun for everyone. After graduation, Sam will attend the University of Colorado Boulder to study Astrophysical and Planetary Sciences and join the Golden Buffalo Marching Band 🚀

Next up, we’re celebrating Sihan Chen!
Sihan plays the flute in Wind Ensemble. Their favorite band memory was playing at the annual Redmond Saturday Market opening, and they’ve been such an important part of the band community serving as our Band Leadership Vice President and flute section leader! Sihan has brought many smiles to every event and made many contributions to the program over the years. After graduation, Sihan will attend the University of Pennsylvania to study bioengineering 🚀

Starting off with a bang, we’re celebrating Maxwell Anderson!
Maxwell plays the alto saxophone in Symphonic Band. His favorite band memory was the trip to Southern California, and he has brought many smiles and laughs to the band community throughout high school.
After graduation, Maxwell will attend Thompson Rivers University to study as a heavy equipment technician 🚀

Auditions are required for all members seeking to join the 2026-2027 RHS Jazz Band. In the case of rhythm section (piano, guitar, bass, drums), auditions are jointly taken for membership in both the RHS Jazz Band and Vocal Jazz Ensemble.
